Loving in Tandem Film Review: Newcomer charm and fabulous cast in one delightful movie

Image
Maymay Entrata is the big winner in the recently concluded PBB. She was partnered with Edward Barber and together for the first time, they were launched in their first ever film appearance as a love team playing the major role of Shine and Luke in the new Star Cinema rom-com movie 'Loving in Tandem' under the direction of Giselle Andres. Shine was in dire necessity of helping his sicked nephew to the extent of joining a gang of pickpockets just to earn money. Luke was a rebellious Filipino American teenager who's mad at her mother not knowing the true reason why she left him in the US. The two look good together on the big screen and they both possess charm. Maymay has full of potential to be a great actress. She's a natural comedian, too. Edward resembles the innocent look, pretty boy face of a matinee idol. Maymay and Edward were very lucky to be given the right project and for a newcomer like them, it's hard to face the challenge of showbiz especially there'

Lisa at first was hesitant to go with the two strangers they've just met in the bar until she was convinced by her sister Kate to enjoy the activity and trust the guys as they were just like the other tour guide whom they can depend on. The suspense started when Lisa and Kate entered the cage and go down under the vast ocean to meet the killer sharks. The cable that carries the cage starts to fray and the cage fell off 47 meters down to the seafloor. The film's underwater cinematography is creepy and visually engaging. T

Timeless Classic: A Walk In The Clouds

Perturbed by the noise of barking dogs, I woke up in the middle of the night. The cold wind coming in from the open windowpane brought shiver to my half-naked body. Feeling a bit dizzy, I managed to stand and walked a few pace to reach out to that open window. I closed it down. Then I looked around the room and realized that my laptop hadn’t been shut down from the whole afternoon of displaying meaningful visuals to me. I sat down in front of it and went to click aimlessly on the folders buried within the nodes of the treeview, showing my hard drive’s file structure. Then I stumbled on it. Movies. I went on and clicked more ‘till I ended up on the group of movies categorized as classic movies. I had my eyes fixated on a rather peculiar movie that had a title, “A Walk in the Clouds”  and subconsciously asked myself, "How often do I watch a classic movie?" I guess, once, or twice in four years?  Well, I can't remember, really. To sum it all, I ended up watchi

'West Side Story' is a 1961 film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical of the same title. Directed by Robert Wise (Sound of Music) and Jerome Robbins, the film was inspired by the characters of William Shakespear's tragedy Romeo & Juliet set in 1950's New York City. The film garnered a total of 11 Oscars nominations and won 10 including Best Picture, a record breaker for any film musical. The film's major achievement is the inclusion of Rita Moreno (Best Supporting Actress) as the dazzling Anita who gracefully nailed the song and dance number 'America'. Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins were popular in the world of stage play even before they did West Side Story and it's been manifest in their collaboration on this film. 'Somewhere' is probably the most popular in the film's array of music, it is often a competition piece in a singing contest.
